Figgers Foundation donating computers to Apalachee Ridge Technology & Learning Center

Freddie Figgers, CEO of Figgers Wireless and Figgers Communications, will “donate 20 brand new computers to the Apalachee Ridge Technology & Learning Center” through his charitable foundation

The donated computers are scheduled to be delivered to the center Friday.

Also, the foundation has pledged 500 55-inch screen HD televisions to the Greater Apalachee Ridge Estates Neighborhood Association “to support fundraising for the neighborhood-based center,” it said.

The Center is located at 937 Kendall Drive, near Orange Avenue on the city’s southside.

The idea behind the computer donation, according to a press release, is to “meet the technology access needs of neighbors during this pandemic and beyond.”

Figgers, a Gadsden County native, recently also donated more than 700,000 units of personal protection equipment to communities across the country that have been devastated by the coronavirus pandemic through the foundation.

His black-owned telecommunications firm is based in Fort Lauderdale.
